Limericks with Lilith and knock-offs from Nat: Swallow, he she they and Hidden
11 April 2017
Our resident limerick marverick Lilith Wozniak returns with her measured metre, while Nat Norland responds in kind. Like that Run DMC video, but more so
Three characters try to control
their living (one through alcohol),
They start off in fragments,
but reach what is absent,
And apparently feel far more whole.
he she they
With gender we’re forced into roles
that don’t always match with our souls,
The dancers they twirled,
stamped on this strict world,
tap dancing right through to their soles!
Our lives are so full of connection,
in an office, shop, or train station,
you meet a friend’s mother,
whose ex-husband’s brother,
will run in your boss’ election.
- Lilith Wozniak
There's a nest that the neighbour's creating
In this tale of three lives re-gestating
The design was abstracted
The action well acted
But static; which was mildly frustrating
he she they
Women are producers of gametes
Men are producers of gametes
The show was entrancing
Holy fuck! the tap dancing!
I can't think what else rhymes with gametes
My thoughts on this show remain hidden
These words leave my fingers unbidden
For this credence reigns true:
To write a review
Of a show you've not seen is forbidden.
- Nat Norland
