Festival Bursaries

We are so very grateful to the Arts Patrons’ Trust for an extremely generous donation.

This grant enables us to offer bursaries towards the cost of tickets, travel and accommodation costs and cover the cost of accommodation and food for the Management and Technical Teams at the Festival.

The bursary money is to last for the next three years and cover the 2017, 2018 and 2019 Festivals.

The bursary for the Management and Technical Teams will last for two to three years.

Please note that the bursaries are for individuals aged 19 years to 25 years old, at the time of the festival. Detailed information on the Bursaries and Application Process is listed below.

We are sorry that we cannot offer bursaries to anyone below the age of 19 years old.

It is anticipated that only in exceptional circumstances will all members of a selected show be offered bursaries. This is because we are committed to being a more diverse and accessible organisation. We are passionate about reaching out to a wider society and giving as many people as possible, the opportunity to be at the festival and to benefit from all we offer.

With that in mind, we are targeting certain organisations and areas of the country to offer up a number of bursaries for first time attendees.

The money will only go so far and we hope that Drama Societies and some groups of people entering shows or wishing to be at the festival will understand that their own fundraising and seeking financial support from their Universities or Colleges should still be pursued to bring their show to Hull in 2017.

We aim to be as fair in assessing applications as possible. We will be unable to enter into further correspondence, if an application is unsuccessful.

There is a lot to read through but please take your time to read everything below.
