Ali  Pidsley

Ali is a freelance Director and Theatre-Maker based in Yorkshire. He is the co-Artistic Director and co-Founder of Barrel Organ Theatre, and was the 2014 recipient of the Buzz Goodbody Award for Directing.

Directing for Barrel Organ includes their award-winning debut production Nothing, and Some People Talk About Violence (both Camden People’s Theatre, Summerhall in Edinburgh, and tours). Other recent directing includes Pops by Charlotte Josephine (Young Vic as part of the Jerwood Assistant Director Programme), A Girl in School Uniform (Walks Into a Bar) by Lulu Razcka (West Yorkshire Playhouse & New Diorama Theatre), Blasted by Sarah Kane (Styx Tottenham, RIFT Theatre), Left Luggage by Isla Gray (The Space, Kimbo Theatre), and Danielle by Annie Jenkins (Slingshot Manchester).

Ali has also worked as an assistant director with the National Theatre, West Yorkshire Playhouse, Manchester Royal Exchange, The Gate, Greyscale Theatre Company and Forced Entertainment.
